Rescue Discount: A discount on your first Companion Dog class is available to puppies or dogs rescued from the Humane Society or a rescue group. To receive this discount enter the promotion code Rescue and mail a copy of the adoption paperwork to the proper registrar above.

Rabies Requirement:  Every dog 4 months or older must have a current rabies vaccination certificate or veterinarian proof of vaccination in order for that dog to participate in a class. A copy of such certificate or veterinarian proof must be given to, and left with, the instructor at the beginning of the first class.  Rabies tags are not valid proof.

If such certificate or veterinarian proof is not provided, the dog will not be permitted access to the building. The handler may observe the class and bring proof of vaccination to the second class without losing their spot in the class. All dogs are expected to be current on all other vaccines as recommended by their veterinarian. Late registrations are not accepted.

When registration opens, click on a class below to register, or click to read the class description.  If you have taken a class in recent years, you already have an account.  (you may change your password, if needed). Please verify that all the information for you and your dogs is correct and updated.

If this is your first time logging in, you need to create a password and complete all information regarding you and your dog.  Please do this prior to registration.  Please use only your dog's call name, estimate date of birth, if unknown.  Please do not fill in age, as program keeps that updated.

Only classes listed in scrolling box above are available for registration; all other classes are filled and closed.

Waiting list for classes:  Our classes fill very quickly when registration opens. We do not keep a waiting list but may be able to accommodate you if a vacancy occurs.  If you did not get into your choice of Puppy, Beginner l or Beginner ll class during this registration, please send an email to Ruth Barker and let her know.

Before sending the email, you must:

1. Create a WSDTC Account (on our Home page) with the required information about you and your dog.

2. Verify that your dog is qualified for the class by reading the class descriptions.

Please include any restrictions that you might have, i.e., evening class only or a particular night like Wednesday or Thursday only.  If any vacancies occur that "match" we will try to make that available to you.

Small Dogs

Classes designated for Small Dogs are restricted to dogs under 14” tall and less than 12 pounds.

Winter Weather Policy

WSDTC follows the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County (WSFC) Schools weather delay and closing schedule. Tune in to WXII12 News for school closing announcements or see the WS/FC Schools Website for up-to-date information.

When schools are delayed, WSDTC morning classes will be held. Instructors have the option of cancelling morning classes and will notify their students.

When schools are dismissed early due to weather, afternoon and WSDTC evening classes will not be held.

When schools are closed due to weather, no WSDTC classes will be held.

When classes are held on weekends, students will be notified by the instructor.

Every effort will be made to extend the session and/or schedule make-up classes for those cancelled due to weather closing.
